To choose a gift that she’ll love and be receptive to receiving, you’ll need to do a little work ahead of time. You’ll need to think about the following areas in order to get a lingerie gift that is perfectly suited for her:

BODY SHAPE

Apple

The Apple figure has broader shoulders and narrow hips, like an inverted triangle.

Enhance her chest and draw attention to her legs with a garter. She’ll look incredible! If a garter seems too much for her personality, a babydoll, chemise or camisole and panty will play up her attributes. A boy short will give the impression of curvier hips.

Hour Glass

The Hour Glass figure has broad shoulders, narrow waist and curvy hips, like an actual hour glass.

This body type can get away with anything. A good option to play up her curves is a bra & panty set (add a garter for additional sex appeal), chemise, or camisole and panty. A push up bra or plunge bra will add volume to her chest and create an overall balanced look with her hips.

Pear

The Pear figure has narrow shoulders, small waist and wider hips, like a triangle.

Petite

SIZE

Check out her lingerie drawer to see what sizes that she wears. Lingerie (including chemises and camisoles) and panties run in extra small, small, medium, large and extra large. Bra sizes have a number (band size) and letter (cup size) to tell the size. For example, 32C tells that 32 is a band size and C is the cup size.

Pay close attention to intimate apparel items found in the front of the drawer – these are typically worn more than lingerie in the back.

Many times best and close friends will know her bra, top and panty sizes.

Plum

A plum breast size is typically an AA Cup or smaller.

Lemon

A lemon breast size is typically an A Cup.

Orange

An orange breast size is typically a B Cup.

Grapefruit

A grapefruit breast size is typically a C Cup.

If all else fails and you are unsure of her body type or what she’d like, a babydoll or chemise are good choices. Babydolls accent the breasts and flare out in an empire waist (right under the breasts) and can hide a number of areas that may make her uncomfortable. A chemise is an elegant choice that can make a woman feel sexy until she’s comfortable to bare more skin.

COLOR

Before purchasing a color, try thinking of what color she tends to wear a lot of, what colors are prevalent in her closet and what color and shade look the best on her. That will be a good judge of what colors are complimentary with her skin tone and hair color.

Remember that whatever color you choose will be reflected in her skin tone when she wears it. For example, a woman who puts on a pale pink color will see that color reflected in the tone of her skin.

Black and Dark Colors

They cut a beautiful silhouette around a woman’s figure and also make her appear slimmer.

White and Lighter Colors

White is a hard color to wear unless she is tan or has a warmer skin tone. Most skin tones are complimentary with ivory, beige or nude.

When all else fails, go with black lingerie. Black is a sophisticated, classy color that looks good on all body types and black lingerie is ultra sexy on a woman.
